Privacy Policy

MiraTe is built by Still Alive ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the controls you have. The short version: your watch history powers your features, we don't sell personal data, and there are no ads.

What we collect

• Account data — your email address and the profile details you choose (display name, avatar, banner).
• Tracking data — the shows, movies and anime you log: episodes watched, ratings, lists, rewatches, notes and watch timestamps. This is the product; it exists so the app works for you.
• Usage analytics — anonymized interaction data (screens visited, feature usage) collected under legitimate interest to fix bugs and improve the app. You can opt out anytime in Settings.
• Screenshots you submit for import — if you use AI import, the screenshots you select are processed by an AI service to extract title names, then discarded. They are never used for anything else.
• GIF search — if you attach a GIF to a community post or comment, your device sends your search terms directly to the third-party GIF service that supplies them. Like any service reached over the internet, it also sees your device's IP address. The requests carry a random identifier so the service can show your recent GIFs — never your name, email or account identity.

What we do with it

• Run your features — sync your library, compute stats, power shared lists (members of a shared list see each other's display name, avatar and progress on the titles in that list).
• Personalized recommendations — on by default; you can turn them off anytime in Settings → Privacy and recommendations revert to non-personalized trending. Your taste profile is computed on our own servers and never leaves the platform.
• AI-assisted features — some features send data to an AI service from our servers: if titles in an import can't be matched automatically, their names and years are sent to identify the right show; text posted in the community (reviews, comments, questions to the in-app assistant) may be processed for moderation and to answer the questions you ask. These requests carry only what the feature needs — never your name, email or account identity.
• Aggregated industry statistics — we build anonymized, aggregate-only reports about what people watch (by country and genre). Groups too small to be anonymous are dropped, and your identity, email and exact watch times never leave our database. This is what keeps the app free.

What we never do

• No ads, no ad-tech SDKs, no selling of personal data.
• No reading of anything outside what you explicitly log or submit.
• Individual watch history is never shared beyond the shared lists you join voluntarily.

Purchases

Subscriptions, tips and one-time items are bought through your device's app store. The store processes the payment — we never see your card details. We receive only a receipt confirming what you bought, so we can unlock it on your account.

Where your data lives

Data is stored in our databases with row-level security — your rows are readable only by you (and shared-list co-members, for the titles in that list). Catalog metadata comes from TMDb, TVMaze and AniList.

Your rights

You can export or delete your account and all associated data from Settings at any time, or start deletion from mirate.app/delete-account. Deletion is permanent. For anything else, contact [email protected].

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll notify you in the app before the change takes effect.
